Asha Sharma’s Post

It’s been a wild and wonderful first 62 days as Xbox CEO. Matt Booty and I spent time this morning with the team talking about great games, return of Xbox, and future of play. https://lnkd.in/g97h98Yd

Good moves to be honest. As a fan of Xbox since I was 10 years old I am glad to see tangible changes in the game industry. There is still one thing, as an Xbox fan, I am missing..... EXCLUSIVES. I agree that more gamers should be able to play games wherever they want. However, the essence of Xbox has been decreasing to a point where consumers are not asking themselves this question anymore: Why would I buy an Xbox? because they no longer need an xbox console..... having their iconic titles like: Halo, Forza, Fable, Gears and more others available in other consoles is not keeping core fans in the ecosystem, it is opening an exit door to migrate into other ecosystems. I am glad with the changes and I hope to see Xbox growing in the gaming industry in the future. Big huges from México, thank you for reviving the FanFest and bringing it to México.

Hello, I would like to share some recommendations if you truly want to keep Xbox alive, generate revenue for the company, maintain a strong and stable player base, and attract new players while retaining existing ones. This is not something an AI could genuinely write, because it lacks the perspective and experience of a real gamer. I grew up playing PC DOS games and later transitioned to Xbox. I have been an Xbox player for over 10 years, and based on that experience, I would like to outline three fundamental points which, if addressed, would strengthen what matters most in gaming: fun. 1. Disable forced cross‑play in games.
There is nothing more frustrating than being unable to turn this feature off. If cross‑play is enabled only between consoles, that is acceptable, but PC players should not be included due to the high prevalence of cheating and inherent hardware advantages.

Ask for a certified third-party investigation into Halo Studios.

I would follow a clear strategy: their major games, such as Halo, Gears, Forza, and Fable, should initially be released only on Xbox and PC, since they belong to the same ecosystem as Windows, and be available on Game Pass from day one, so as to provide a real reason for the console’s existence. Then, after 1–2 years, they should also come to other platforms such as PS5 and Switch 2, bringing a second wave of revenue from players who would not buy an Xbox. Online and service games should be available everywhere so that the community can grow and remain active. On the other hand, certain very large and iconic titles, such as the next Elder Scrolls, should remain exclusive, so that Xbox maintains its identity and a clear reason to buy it. At the same time, Xbox owners should feel that they are getting something extra, with benefits such as free DLC, exclusive skins, and a rewards system with points for purchases on the Microsoft Store, so that even when a game is released elsewhere later on, the best and most complete experience is on Xbox. PLEASE INFORM ASHA.

As a long time xbox fan i really like the decisions you are making thus far, because i think that they are very good steps towards improving the image of the xbox brand, also i find it very positive that you are placing console hardware again as the center point of your strategy. I also think that bringing back exclusives would further strengthen the image of the brand and bring consumers back to your ecosystem. Finally i think that you should pay some attention if you want to the availability of your consoles in retail stores especially in the European region, where finding a series x console in store selves is almost impossible. I wish you all the best and every success in your duties as an xbox CEO.

I’ll be honest, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen this level of attitude and energy in leadership, congratulations on the work and the way you’ve been guiding this moment, in the end it’s not about gender, it’s about courage, vision, and action, as a fan of the brand I’m already very excited about what’s ahead.

You should consider a fan forum consisting of players who have been with the Xbox brand since Day 1 (and owned a Duke controller) about what they want to see next.

Asha Sharma, your work is exceptional. The only thing left is to follow the path of PlayStation and Nintendo by clearly announcing that Xbox will also have its own console exclusives. That would give the brand even more identity and strength.

How about the true Xbox supporters that buy multiple years of Ultimate Game Pass? Mine doesn't expire till May 2027 so I'm losing over 200 00 as I have to pay for Call of Duties next game and keep paying the higher rate. Support did nothing but hang up because the call got close to closing time no follow up on how they could help me. Horrible support. You can see my Private message to you i sent last week which I bet won't get answered. The last ceo did do follow ups and cared. I really think I backed the wrong person. I told others to give tou a chance as they did nothing but bad mouth you. There are other consoles on the market that would love my money.
